Prevalence and incidence of postpartum depression and environmental factors: The IGEDEPP cohort

IGEDEPP (Interaction of Gene and Environment Depression during PostPartum) is a prospective multicenter cohort study 3310 Caucasian women who gave birth between 2011 2016, with follow-up until one year postpartum. The aim the current to describe estimate prevalence cumulative incidence early late-onset postpartum depression (PPD). Socio-demographic data, personal family psychiatric history, as well stressful life events childhood pregnancy were evaluated at baseline. Early PPD assessed 8 weeks 1 respectively, using DSM-5 criteria. early-onset was 8.3% (95%CI 7.3–9.3), late 12.9% 11.5–14.2), resulting in an 8-week 8.5% 7.4–9.6) one-year 18.1% (95%CI: 17.1–19.2). Nearly half (N = 1571, 47.5%) had history least or addictive disorder, primarily depressive disorder (35%). Almost 300 (9.0%) reported trauma. During pregnancy, 47.7% experienced event, 30.2% first 43.9% five event weeks. Incident episodes affected nearly Most perinatal events.
